Advice for others
Stay for at least 3 days to check out all the landmarks and shops. Bring a good rain jacket, comfortable walking shoes, and layers. The weather changes fast, and many streets are made of uneven stone. There’s also a viral coffee shop everyone recommends, but honestly, it was overrated.
What I did
I wandered around Old Town and tried blood puding at a restaurant, which I highly recommend. I also checked out a really cool Frankenstein themed multi-level bar that felt very "Edinburgh" with live music!
Extra details
The locals were incredibly friendly whenever I needed help and made the city feel less intimidating. If you have extra time, renting a car and driving to the Isle of Skye is totally worth it. Just know that drivers under 26 get hit with extra rental fees.

I built RateMyTravels after feeling unprepared and unconfident after spending hours researching for my study abroad semester in Sweden.

I kept running into the same problem traveling throughout Europe. Sometimes I couldn't find any advice. And if I did, it was scattered across the internet, generic, or felt promotional.

I didn't just need more information — I needed better insights, in one place.

So I built a place where travelers can share what it's actually like, what they wish they knew, and what they'd do differently.
